Beauford Delaney (1901 - 1979)
Delaneys small studio was often visited by fellow artists, writers, friends and potential patrons. If the guest was unknown to him, in advance of their arrival he would cloak his pictures with a white sheet. It was only if he had a positive feeling about them that he would uncover the paintings to allow them to have a " Private View".
This exhibition features paintings created just prior to his transition to Paris up until 1974 just five years prior to his passing.
In addition, it features a picture from his Rosa Parks series - only 4 known to exist.
This Private View is not to be missed.
